Los Angeles, CA - Get Lit’s Poetic Directors Fellowship is pleased to present an afternoon of conversation with Jane Fonda as its inaugural event in a series of panels with leading voices in Hollywood and the creative industry. These industry ambassadors will be speaking directly to the youth of Get Lit and a select private audience. Get Lit - Words Ignite is a youth organization that fuses classic and spoken word poetry to increase teen literacy on the page and in visual media. We cultivate enthusiastic learners emboldened to inspire social consciousness in diverse communities.

In partnership with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Get Lit - Words Ignite’s Poetic Directors Fellowship greenlights youth-directed short films each year, burgeoning the inception of The Poetic New Wave, a new generation of filmmaking, storytelling, and content creation.

Along with a screening of select scenes from three of her films, Get Lit’s Head of Productions and Creative Development, Samuel Curtis, and the 2018 Youth Poet Laureate of the West Coast, Mila Cuda, will moderate a Q+A with Jane Fonda on her craft as an actor, what it’s like working with different directors, and how the power of words, speech and voice have made a difference in her life.

Date: Friday, July 26thTime: 4-6pm, Doors: 3:30pm
