Bats n' vehicles chasing other vehicles!
Dear Dynasty Darlings,
We're gonna CUT TO THE CHASE this week as we've got two really magical events coming up that we just gotta tell you about! But first! Did you know that "cutting to the chase" came from early Hollywood silent films where the filmmakers would cut from some boring-ass character development scene to a more exciting scene with a 🚗 CAR CHASE 🚓 (or maybe another type of chase? couldn’t possibly research any deeper) in order to liven things up? We never knew that! All these years! Did you know that? In either case, you're so cool!! (Did this diversion into the origin of the phrase "cutting to the chase" completely invalidate our attempt to… cut to the chase? Probably! IRONY! Ha!)
Ok, 🚗 THE CHASE! 🚓:
THIS Friday is Halloween night and YOU are invited to get all dressed up and join us as Dynasty Typewriter transforms into the mythical Guano Guano Club - a tropical, spooky, batshit cabaret where ghosts, creatures, Dynasty legends, and YOU come to play again! FYI, WE ARE BUILDING A BIG, FANCY SET FOR THIS! It will be a night of comedy, music, ritual, revelry, and release ON THIS BIG, FANCY SET, featuring:
A Variety Show with stand-up, music, dancers, puppets, games, prizes, and more!
A Séance to commune with The Spirits of The Stage (or whatever else shows up!)
Dynasty’s Classic Costume Contest + Talent Showcase!
A Fish Coffin Ceremony of Release!
Incredible photo opportunities!
Bring your friends and loved ones and come dressed to impress! (costumes! masks! suits! dresses! sweats! whatever makes you feel comfortable and/or alive!) This isn’t just a show, it’s a full-blown ceremony of enchantment, weirdness, and joy. So yeah, dress for THAT.
It will all be hosted by JAMIE FLAM & VANESSA RAGLAND (US!) with a spoooooky tropicalia house band led by the enchanting ELIANA ATHAYDE and featuring performances from BRENT WEINBACH, TONY SAM, BECKY POOLE, MICHAEL SERWICH, RASPUTIN’S MARIONETTES, DADDY LONGLEGS, VIA L'ONCE + More Mystical Guests to Be Summoned!

🚕 THE CHASE PART 2! 🏎️
On Saturday, November 8th, Dynasty was asked to participate in an exciting event at LA's very enchanting Union Station. AND WE SAID YES! We will be joining Metro Art, Zócalo Public Square, and Grand Performances for “Late Night Train of Thought,” a free evening celebrating the vibrant arts scene that connects Angelenos across music, comedy, poetry, and conversation. The night will feature a roundtable conversation about art (with our very own Vanessa at the table!), spoken word performance interludes from Da Poetry Lounge, a musical set by Open Mike Eagle, and we will be curating an improv set with some of our Dynasty Darlings including Lauren Lapkus, Colton Dunn, Sasheer Zamata, Eugene Cordero, Ify Nwadiwe, and Gil Ozeri! There will be sweets from Little Tokyo’s iconic Fugetsu-Do Confectionery (while supplies last) and bites available for purchase from the Kogi BBQ food truck. The event is FREE and open to the public and you can RSVP here! More info below!
🐎 See you Friday night!! 🛵
