Dear Dynasty Darlings,
Lights up on:
💡 🤩 SHOWVEMBER, BABY! 🤩💡
It’s like “November” but showier. Appropriate, as this month’s calendar is bustin’ at the seams like Faddle G. Dynasty’s pants after “Full-Town Buffet Day ‘72.” (There would be no more Buffet Days after this 😔. Faddle’s voracity ruined it for the rest of us. Faddle’s voracity ruined a lot of things. Ah, Faddle.)
We’re very excited to be entering this month, which appropriately and officially (clock wise) began as we (Jamie and Vanessa) were on stage in humanoid bat costumes, writhing in The Guano Guano Club’s inaugural seance held just this Halloween. We had an amazing time, thanks to all who joined us! We took everyone there on a journey from LA to a mystical island called The Wylds and entered a bat cave in a mountain where we puppeted, played, danced, had a costume contest, witnessed magical things, and did it all in front of a beautiful set, built for us by the same Australian man who built huge bird sculptures in Jamie’s yard that then decorated the Burning Man’s playa. Batshit delight! Missed the show? Don’t worry! The Guano Guano Club will be back next year, bigger and weirder than ever!
We hope to see you around the theater this month, and every month. We love you and are so grateful to have a magical gathering place to offer you (and ourselves) in these times. Let’s continue to rename months, eat DynaPop!, watch inspiring and absurd things, and build unstoppable ceremonies to buoy us in the e’er turning waters of life.
🍿 But wait! Don’t forget about this week’s off-site, in-city ENJOYMENT OPPORTUNITY! This Saturday, November 8th, Dynasty is participating in a very exciting event at LA’s enchanting Union Station. Engineered by Metro Art, Zócalo Public Square, and Grand Performances for “Late Night Train of Thought,” it’s a free evening celebrating the vibrant arts scene that connects Angelenos across music, comedy, poetry, and conversation. The night will feature a roundtable conversation about art (with our very own Vanessaat the table!), spoken word performance interludes from Da Poetry Lounge, a musical set by Open Mike Eagle, and we will be curating an improv set with some of our Dynasty Darlings including Lauren Lapkus, Colton Dunn, Sasheer Zamata, Eugene Cordero, Ify Nwadiwe, and Gil Ozeri! There will be sweets from Little Tokyo’s iconic Fugetsu-Do Confectionery (while supplies last) and bites available for purchase from the Kogi BBQ food truck. The event is FREE and open to the public and you can RSVP here! More info below!
Mystical Mysticism,
