What’s YOUR total body shred?
Darlings,
💊 aPill greetings, sweet people! Take a swig of somethin’ sweet and gulp up each dose of this month like the good doctor (Noah Wyle) insists. Before we have to intubate.
Hope you’re feeling fine and POWERFUL. 💪 Right now, JAM is 22 days into a 69 day clean and feisty phase including #totalbodyshreds, yoga, and more meditation, while excluding alcohol and coffee. VAN is not doing that, but is spending more time in the garden and researching various cults which is BASICALLY THE SAME.
We’re staring down the barrel at another week of sweet delights here at the theater, and we remain very glad Dynasty exists as a beacon to all the friends n’ folks on the stage and in the audience. In a world in which every day brings new shocking terrors and reaches new scummy lows for humanity, we’re banking on the saving grace being connection and inspiration from the good people of the world who manage to protect and shine their light. Also the bees 🐝🐝 🐝 will help save us, so maybe plant some native plants wherever you can and be nice to creatures big and small when possible.
lozenges,
VanJam
UPCOMING SHOWS
TUESDAY 04/14 at 7:30pm
Taskmistress challenges your favorite comedians to complete absurd, confusing, and hilarious tasks — all to please the Taskmistress, Silver Lake drag icon Tony Soto. Solomon Georgio, Alexis Bevels, Guy Branum, and Alaska Thunderfuck compete live on stage, begging for precious points with only one crowned champion. Similar but legally distinct from a popular BBC Three panel show — but as we all know, plagiarism is okay if you're a drag queen. And if we're going to steal from someone, why not the British?
WEDNESDAY 04/15 at 7:00pm
Join us for a commemorative performance on the 114th anniversary of the Titanic disaster. Never Let Go is a "feat of ingenuity" (NY Times) — a uproariously queer one-man show that distills the three-plus hour epic into one hour of surprisingly subversive punch. Kinnan, who grew up worshiping the movie and its iconic cast of characters, plays all of them with "perfectly executed comedy, pathos and homage" (ScotsGay Arts). As told by Rose, the play takes you on an intimate journey into the fateful romance shadowed by one of the most devastating man-made disasters in modern history. A "truly unique and absorbing high camp theatrical piece" (Culture Fix).
