View Our Calendar Here →  Bonjour les Darlings! VanJam and Booker Mary have just returned from a wonderful trip to Montréal for the famed and fabulous Just For Laughs comedy festival! We saw some great shows, ate some delicious meals, and watched the beginning scene of Magic Mike 3: Magic Mike’s Last Dance several times in the wee small hours of the morning, and then enjoyed rotating fantasy’s/space work of embodying the energy of either Channing/Mike (strong good puppy) or Selma/“Maxandra” (confident, calm, wildly strong and sensual) Our takeaways from the trip? Our AirBnB host should absolutely be ashamed of herself (yuck!), the city is bursting with charm and beautiful signage, and we’re so lucky to have so many absolute next-level Dynasty Darlings shining on the world’s stage. Looking at the programming, we were so proud of how many of these wonderful artists have expressssed themselves at our place in LA. Home weird home!  In opposite-of-Channing-Tatum-news, we've just learned the world lost Paul Reubens today. There's no doubt that our shared love of silliness, absurdity, enchantment, and satire was profoundly influenced by Pee Wee Herman. The big adventure, the big top, and the playhouse were all on repeat throughout our childhoods and beyond. And we'll never forget trying to tame our excitement as we served him DynaPop! before one of our shows a few years ago. RIP to an absolute legend! We’re at a solid 40% battery life ourselves, bodily factors keeping us from true sleep (looking at you, youth-sciatica™, and staring you down, early-onset insomnia, and really giving the stink eye to some children who love nothing more than sneaking into bed to use one of our heads (Van) as a pummeling orb.) Sleep-prohibitors aside we’re still… VITAL. And that’s our wish for you as well, UNLIMITED ACCESS TO VITALITY! (We’re working on a pill for that! So far the only ingredient is popcorn.) These halls are b'decked with neckties and “I’d rather be golfing” garlands, as we anticipate the absolute magic that is Father’s Day week. (Though, you know we be stretchin' the celebrations through the month. ;) Or something.) Anywayyyy, we had a great weekend at the theater including a last-minute heads up about some CELEBRITIES in the audience that threw us into an absolute tizzy of delight. We don’t want to be TaCkY and say who they were… but basically the best power couple that isn’t Beyoncé/J-Z, Keanu/Jennifer, Garfield/Jon.  Who even knows what SURPRISE celebs may get cozy in the audience this week (maybe YOU?!), but we already have so many confirmed celebs for the stage we honestly couldn’t care less. We’re not quite there yet, but our trajectory (and horoscope) suggests we'll be fully swole on ourselves sometime soon (retrograde notwithstanding).
