VENUE AGREEMENT
We’re so excited to host your show at Dynasty! Please review our policies below and sign to ensure the best possible show experience. THE DYNASTY DIFFERENCE! At Dynasty, we lead with kindness and respect and above and beyond hospitality for our artists, staff, and audience members. It’s our whole damn thing! We only want to support shows and set everyone up for success from the moment a show is booked. We expect the same from all producers and talent who use and perform at our theater.
PROMOTION: We will include your show on our website calendar, in our e-blast, and in our Instagram stories. We know from years of experience that this alone doesn’t guarantee butts in seats. Since we are promoting shows 7 nights a week, the success and attendance of your show ultimately falls on you and your producers. It certainly helps to have some big, famous promotable names, but even then it will take hard work and a real passion for your show to sell tickets. Before committing to do your show, ask yourself if you’re truly ready to enthusiastically promote and fill our beautiful room with your beautiful people!
CANCELLATION: We (obviously) hate canceling shows. We’d never book a show we didn’t fully want to happen! That said, we want shows and audiences to be set up for a great experience, including our wonderful staff who make themselves available to work to make it happen. With that in mind, if there are fewer than 30 tickets sold a week before the show, and fewer than 75 tickets sold within 72 hours, we reserve the right to cancel the show, refund all ticketholders, and keep any deposits put down to cover our overhead for the night.
LIVESTREAM CANCELLATION: We love the ability to livestream shows to reach a larger audience! But if we’re not reaching a larger audience, the amount of tech staffing required to make it happen isn’t merited. If we have fewer than 30 livestream tickets sold within 72 hours we reserve the right to cancel the stream and refund all ticketholders.
TECH/PRODUCTION: We have a wonderful tech staff that wants to make your show’s technical dreams come true. In order to do so, please fill out the tech form at least two weeks before your show, and make sure to get a projected run-of-show (click here for a template) and any additional tech needs in for you and your line-up as early as possible. If you or any talent show up with last minute requests, we’ll of course do our best to accommodate, but we can’t guarantee anything and it often adds a layer of stress that is easily avoided with just a little prep.
SHOW LENGTH: Most shows are given a 75-90 minute slot. Starting and ending on time is critical, as we often have multiple shows on the same night. Please make sure you’ve timed out your show so that it doesn’t exceed the allotted time. When applicable, make sure to send a show run pacing and run time to our booker and tech within 48 hours of the show with set lengths for all performers.
NO OUTSIDE CAMERAS. If something needs to be recorded, let us know and we can provide a variety of options.
SHOOTING/PRODUCTION: If the scope of your show becomes bigger than initially booked, your show will become a rental, meaning you’ll be charged a flat fee and keep the door. If you are shooting something for “internal uses” it is understood that material will not be released online or as a special by another entity.
RADIUS ALERT: Reminder that as big as the LA comedy community is, it’s also… not big. That in mind, having your show at another LA location within 6 weeks of your Dynasty show is not advised. Please let us know if you intend to produce/promote any other shows around the time of yours as that may affect whether or not we are comfortable proceeding with the booking.
BUMPING SHOWS: Bumping shows is like our least favorite thing, but it is a reality of the live venue world. Luckily it happens very, very rarely! But, on occasion we will get big production rentals or major touring acts that we need to consider, even when we have a show already booked. Know that in case that we get an inquiry for a rental on a date where your show is booked, first we will do everything we can to push the production to a different date. If there is absolutely no flexibility, we will then do everything we can to find a suitable new option for you.
ARRIVAL TIME: We open our house for our audience one hour before show time. If you require any tech set-up or sound check, please make sure to coordinate arrival time with our Head of Tech/GM and be sure to arrive well before the house opens. PAYING TALENT: We know there are occasional exceptions, but as a general rule we want all performers on our stage to be compensated for their work. When we do rentals and door deals with producers and promoters our expectation is that some of the payout is going to the other talent being booked.
SHOW PAYMENT:
A full breakdown of all ticket sales will be emailed to you within 3-5 days of the closing of ticketing (note that livestreamed shows are often kept on sale for an additional week), and a check will be sent to the provided address. Please be sure to send a W-9 to our bookkeepers before your show to ensure prompt payment.
DYNASTY DESIGNS:
Dynasty loves providing shows with custom designs for marketing and promotion! It’s one of the things that makes people say things like “I love this graphic! You know, THAT’S the Dynasty Difference!” (and stuff like that). To keep that custom vibe alive, we ask that any art created for your show at Dynasty NOT be repurposed for other shows and projects. If you’ve fallen deeply in love with your design and would like to inquire about securing it, email contact@dynastytypewriter.com and we can let you know your options. Also, please remember that we are designing graphics for dozens of other shows every month, so please respect our designer’s time by getting them all the necessary info in a timely manner and keeping to no more than 2 revisions.

Please know that if you’re doing your show with us, we’re flarpin’ thrilled about it. Thanks for choosing to bring your talent to Dynasty! Hopefully the reason you are here is because of the care we put into every element of the show experience at the theater. Our protocol has been thoughtfully created for our artists and audience throughout the successful execution of thousands of shows.
A few things to know about the DYNASTY PRE-SHOW EXPERIENCE: We’re committed to providing you and the audience with the best experience possible, from the moment they enter the building to the moment they leave. From years of feedback we know that our pre-show experience is vital to the success of the theater.
We want a show at Dynasty to feel like a show at Dynasty. To do that, we aim to keep our vibe cohesive, specific, and consistent. We use the time when the house opens to play our lovingly curated playlists, showcase our upcoming calendar, the beautiful work our designer has done, and photos of notable past performances. On some occasions we present in-house produced videos and trailers before the show begins. Letting every audience know about the wonderful things and amazing talent coming to the theater is a win for everyone!

Pre-Show Music
Our pre-show playlists are passionately curated with an eclectic mix of songs and genres from different eras to evoke the timelessness of the theater, to allow a sense of discovery for those paying attention, while building a momentous energy for the experience. With very few exceptions, we don’t allow personalized playlists. If there is a genre you think will particularly suit your audience, please send it to us at least 48 hours in advance for approval. If your playlist isn’t a fit for us, we’ll try to create one that fits your desired vibe.
Pre-Show Graphics
If there are specific slides or background images you would like to have before your show, we also ask that you submit them to us at least 48 hours in advance for approval. If they are approved, we can add your image into the rotation of our other slides, and when it makes sense, we can switch to your static image a couple minutes before the show begins. T
