Our worlds are well; Van and Jam both held intense Scorpio moon ceremonies to start last week that seem to be paying dividends (at least one of us meditated AND did yoga this morning?! WOW. Hate to say it for the 678th time but "We're BACK and we'll never not do those things again!), the theater is packed with enchanting programming and good humans, Vanessa’s shrimp tank has SHRIMP in it (not a euphemism. Until it is. 😈 ) Jamie’s plants are honestly flourishing, except this one little feller who is just refusing to unfurl his leaves. We’ve been there, feller. Unfurling is scary, until it’s unfurlbulous. ⬅️
At this point in our growth, we will no longer be apologizing for really dumb word play. We will still be acknowledging it, because we are not fully healed humans. Unapologetically uncomfortably aware is the current phase. We're straddling right now, folks. Any other straddlers in the house?
All week VanJam has had the pleasure of bein’ pits-deep in interviews for our new Director of Operations position! The takeaway? There are so many wonderful, talented people in our orbit! 👨🎓 10:30PM: DAN LICATA is a NYC-based comedian and high school senior. A fixture of the Brooklyn alternative comedy scene, DAN has written for shows such as Saturday Night Live, Teenage Euthanasia, and Joe Pera Talks With You, on which he also served as a producer and appeared as "Radio DJ." One of the episodes he wrote titled Joe Pera Reads You the Church Announcements was included in several year-end lists. DAN was named a "Comedian You Should and Will Know" by Vulture, and was selected as one of the New Faces of Comedy at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, where his set was described as "a hyper storm of unbridled maniac hilarity...". In 2024, he returned to his hometown of Buffalo, NY to record his first comedy special, FOR THE BOYS, in front of an audience entirely comprised of 15-year-old boys, where his set was described as "not appropriate for 15-year-old boys."
