Dynasty Darlings,
Double Scorpio 🦂🦂 aka Double Phoenix 🐦🔥🐦🔥 aka Jamie Flam and Vanessa Ragland 💋💋aka VanJam 👯♂️ here with your weekly Dynasty Typewriter electronic mail blast! We're coming off a particularly fun weekend of shows here in our theater, which you of course know, is built on a ꩜ VORTEX ꩜. Upon looking up the definition of vortex just now it was revealed that a vortex is actually a very specific phenomenon related to fluids that requires lots of scientific language to describe. So we'll stick with the language that the great city of Santa Fe, New Mexico uses to describe its vortex-centric approach to tourism marketing when describing ours: Dynasty exists in an area that possesses "a unique convergence of the Earth's energy, which can amplify personal transformation." Not to one up Santa Fe, but we believe our vortex is also tapping into the energy of other planets as well as hidden, mystical enchanting realms. One way to learn about these realms is to come to our sometimes weekly in-house produced variety show, Dynasty Tonight! In addition to our always amazing line-ups of comedians you love, we use the show and our house band The DyNasties to tap into the powers of the ꩜ Dynasty Vortex ꩜ to help manifest transformation for all in attendance. This past Saturday, for example, we entered realms of queendoms and castles and crocodiles and lasers! And everyone there got right on board! That's pretty neat, right?? Also my parents were in the audience, as they typically are, and I got this text from my mom afterwards:
💬 When I got home my voice was hoarse from laughing! I keep thinking [Dynasty Tonight!] can’t get better and then you top the last one. You absolutely amaze me and make me so proud and lucky to be your mama. You and Vanessa have never ending wells that allow you to dig so deep. I hope these kinds of nights reignite you and remind you and Vanessa that you make life a little lighter for so many trying to navigate the rocky seas of a messy time. It also is a reminder that without our family nothing much matters. Vanessa is part of our family. 💬

😭I know moms are supposed to say stuff like this, but for whatever it's worth, she like totally means it!! Sorry to get all vulnerable, but this is truly why we opened Dynasty in the first place and why we continue to put ourselves through all the 🎢 ups and downs 🎢 that come with owning a small business, especially with all the unprecedented unpredictability of the last few years.
