Everything was fine… then we decided to AMPLIFY
Sweet Darlings,
How you feeling this Tuesday in Monday’s clothing? 🐑 Calendar be damned, It feels like a Monday to us honey and our NYT puzzle times are living proof 😞. But hey, “it’s personal lows that make personal HIGHS more exhilarating!” So we ACCEPT this humbling morning, knowing that near-brilliance or at least average intelligence may lie just around the week’s corner. While we’re on the topic, shout out to two incredibly parasocial relationships we’re in! (Or perhaps, two players in one polyparasocial-intimacy pod) Joel Fagliano and Wyna Liu, architects of The Mini and Connections. Joel, Wyna, we haven’t met and yet…. we tango daily. 🥂 😈 We’ve come to know your references, your delight in red herrings (Wyna, you minx!) and your bookish senses of sass and humor. You’re our bedmates, our playmates, our frustration, our delight. 🐅 We don’t vouch for your publication, but we’re grateful for your use of the platform.
Didn’t see this week’s message about a theatre named Dynasty Typewriter starting off like that but that’s what you get when you’re ORGANIC CREATORS* (*don’t hire a marketing person or go to therapy SUPER-regularly.) In more… relevant news, we’ve had a wonderful run of delights at the theater and we’re so grateful for all of you. Friday night’s screening of The Princess Bride was a beautiful and moving event. Thank you to the wonderful Amy Nicholson of Unspooled and the LA Times for introducing this film that we all love so much. The room was full of love and laughter. Van and Jam both brought family, and got to watch the joy of kids experiencing this absolute classic on the big screen. VAN learned her daughter’s sense of humor is most activated when watching a beautiful woman roll/fall down a hill for a long time. JAM got to show his niece the film at the same age he was at his first viewing. VAN’s son said “it was a great film and Dynasty amplified the experience.” He is eleven and we’re honored to be #amplifiers.
Why, we’ll be amplifying this Saturday at Dynasty Tonight! Hosted by us, music by the Dy-Nasties, and a lineup of darlings including: MAE MARTIN, CHINEDU UNAKA, ROZ HERNANDEZ and even a seeeecret special guest! Join us! 💋
❤️ We’re going to do another screening of a Rob Reiner classic for Valentine’s Day and we’re very, very excited. When Harry Met Sally at Dynasty! Come in your best time-period appropriate cosplay and enjoy this classic. Single, coupled, poly’ed (Joel, Wyna… we’ll have you on the guest list.) or buddied up, enjoy the company of likeminded sweeties as we revel in Billy Crystal’s knitwear and Meg Ryan’s Ryanity. We’ll have a costume contest, a love (or not) ceremony, champagne, and of course A HUGE GROUP FAKE ORGASM (participation not required.) 🤩 🍂 ☕️
We’re excited to announce we’re part of the Netflix is A Joke Fest! We’ve got a full plate of programming of our a lot of our favorite folks, and we’d like to cordially invite you to attend. It’s Amplicated,
