mirror, mirror, on the wall…. help me nurture my inner child
Dear Dynasty Darlings,
Happy moody-Monday. Light a candle (or turn on a flashlight if you’re in a cubicle where “flames aren’t allowed” (🙄) and at some point today make eye contact with yourself in the mirror and say I love you! And MEAN it. The challenge is meaning it, because you likely will feel a little stupid. But: if you practice loving yourself stupidly, eventually it becomes earnest and then suddenly… stupidly earnest? And then all these other decisions become a little easier because you’re making them on behalf of someone you LOVE. 🫶 If that’s too cheesy for you and this doesn’t feel like the newsletter you goddamn paid for: great news. (1)You can roll your eyes and scrolll to the calendar! and (2) MIRACULOUSLY this is one of the free-est newsletters in your inbox, costing you zero human dollars or cents, and potentially earning you priceless self love.
This past Saturday, Uranus (pronounced like astrologers say it, “Ur-ahhh-nus” so we won’t immediately think of celestial buttholes) moved into Gemini (pronounced like a fitness romantic musical Gym N’ I) ending one 7 year cycle and starting a new one. We’re suckers for new beginnings and ends of cycles, and though this is probably the 10th one this year- we’re certain this station-shift is the station sift we’ve been waiting for. ‘Cause at the end of the day we’re Humans and one of the most human-thing about humans is our search for meaning and importance and order in the chaos. Also; our search for delightful things to do in between the things we have to do.
This week at Dynasty, we offer you a lot of options to cosmically shift, love your stupid self, love your stupid fellow human, and enjoy the stylings of various human souls living on this earth, each experiencing and expressing it uniquely. INCLUDING: HANNAH EINBINDER, SAUL WILLIAMS (!), TIG NOTARO, and MORE. And starting a week from today, we’ve got a packed lineup of lovlies via the NETFLIX IS A JOKE festival.
It’s all a joke!
