In past events, we had an absolutely iconic week at the theater! We fell in LOVE with the legendary DINA MARTINA during her three-night SOLD OUT run and can’t wait to have her unhinged beauty back here at the theater next time she’s in Losenges. THEN we had the dreamy surprise of a night with THE SANDMAN! Tickets sold out in 7 minutes, and everyone was really nice about it, except one New Yorker who accused us of being too sensitive lol 🤷♀️ You know what, we’re softies aimin’ to stay soft, because our soft spots are where our sweet spots (vulnerability, humility, absurdity, empathy) are! So yeah, we put up our boundaries and encourage etiquette cause baby, we STAY FRAGILE. Maybe it’s not a good look to have soft spots in a Big Apple, but here in the city of angels… it’s fine. And THEN we had a killer sold-out TIG NOTARO show, and on Saturday one of the absolutely SILLIEST Dynasty Tonight!s we’ve had in a minute, featuring HATS! DANCING! and LAST LOOKS. You really should’ve been there. But come join us on the 10th and 14th, because we’ll do something equally strange and exciting. And last night we were treated to one of the absolute greats, DEBRA DIGIOVANNI, recorded her next album here, and… it was SO GOOD. We can’t wait for the world to hear it!
MONDAY, 7:30PM: THE GEORGE LUCAS TALK SHOW A show for Star Wars fans and non-fans alike returns to Dynasty Typewriter! Comedian Connor Ratliff (“Dead Eyes”, “The Marvelous Mrs Maisel”) appears as George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, and interviews guests like a “normal talk show”. He is joined by sidekick Watto, played by Griffin Newman (“Blank Check”, “The Tick”), and show producer Patrick Cotnoir. The show has been running since 2014 and was a regular show at the UCB Theatre in New York City for years. It has been streaming on Twitch since 2020.

THE BENSON MOVIE INTERRUPTION: YOUR CHOICE is a show where comedian Doug Benson (SUPER HIGH ME, @midnight) invites some of his comedy friends to sit in the front row of the theater with mics, cracking wise during a screening of a movie that YOU choose. That’s right, audience members are encouraged to bring a dvd/blu ray of a film they would like to see ripped apart (lovingly) and a vote will be held to determine which one we watch.

SELF HELP ME is a competitive self-care comedy show hosted by comedian, writer and actor Jenny Yang. Every show features comedians, celebrities and wellness experts ready to test their knowledge of the latest wellness trends and reveal their own self-care obsessions. It’s like if Lovett or Leave It and @ midnight made a baby that was obsessed with wellness and lymph node massages–but also cared about the cultures and origins of these splashy trends.
Self-care already felt competitive. We just made our anxieties into a show.
