Welcome to Dynasty Typewriter's patented* (*patent pending) send-up of the month of August... CORN DAUGUST! To all you haters who have been screaming that we couldn't possibly combine carnival/state fair/mall/pier food with the name of a month on the Gregorian (and incidentally also the Julian) calendar, well, we went and did the damn thing! And it's GLORIOUS! Yes, a full summer month of shows, events, and livestreams at Dynasty Typewriter positively emboldened by the presence of meat on a stick coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter and deeeeeep fried. 😋
✨ Some Fun and Worldly Corn Daug Facts: 🇨🇦 Canadians (like our designer Dan who made Corn Daugust come to life visually) often call corn dogs "pogos!" Probably has something to do with the stick part of the corn dog. We refuse to dig deeper. 🇦🇺 In Australia, corn dogs are sometimes called "Pluto pups", "Dagwood dogs", "dippy dogs" or "pronto pups". We love ya, Oz, but pick a lane! 🇩🇪 There are many disputes on who invented the corndog and when, but our allegiance goes to the German immigrants in Texas who filed a US patent in 1927 for a Combined Dipping, Cooking, and Article Holding Apparatus, wherein "the resultant food product on a stick for a handle is a clean, wholesome and tasty refreshment."
Incidentally, the author of this newsie had their first corn dog in decades just last weekend at a taco restaurant in Arcadia (Taco Treat! Mostly known for their deep fried bean and cheese burritos!), and like the Germans a century earlier, could only describe the experience as clean, wholesome, and refreshing.

The offseason arrived at Dynasty Typewriter as Sasquatch premiered Mountain Time Live, an all-new live show set in the fictional mountain town of Jenkins, Colorado. Jack Quaid, Danny Jolles, and Nick Williams brought the town to life as Dale, Irwin, and Cooper, delivering local news, neighborhood gossip, missing cat bulletins, and plenty of absurd small-town
happenings.
Marking Sasquatch’s first new live show concept in years, the evening introduced audiences to the quieter—but no less ridiculous—side of Jenkins, where the ski crowds have disappeared but the stories are just getting started.
