Darlings,
CornDAUGust is but a crumb today, and we’ve enjoyed every bite and hope you have too. Well, “enjoyed” may be too flowery a word for the way we felt during last week’s heatwave, but it was a good and NECESSARY month. Without CornDAUGUST we’d never arrive here, on the threshold of 🥞🪓🐏 SHAPTIMBER. We’ll go into more detail on how we arrived at that beautiful name for September next week, when we’re really in there. But this Monday all you need to know is that it’s Dynasty’s FIRST ever month celebrating: syrup, lumberjacks and shepherd culture as an ENTWINED ENTITY. Finally!
We’re excited about the month and the year and the flarpin’ future ahead of us all. As summer dwindles and fall encroaches, we are grateful for Dynasty as a space for positivity and expression and all the stuff we’re always saying, because it’s true and we are truth-tellers. We’re also so grateful for our TEAM o’ darlings. Guess what? Our Beloved Booker Woman Mary (definitely the original BBW) is OFFICIALLY in the great city of Los Angeles now after some time in… another city (🙄we won’t name names but their claim to fame rhymes with Seep Sish Sizza) and my GOD we’re tickled. All our sheep are in the pasture and 💪 the flock is on lock. IMPORTANT NOTE: this is not a religious sheep/flock thing. Also in this analogy we are ALL sheep and the Shepherd is not a person and certainly is not a man-person (no offense to male persons) is the undeniable energy of the cosmos and the “pasture” is really just Dynasty. Can you imagine if a NON neurodivergent person wrote these emails? They’d probably be like:
Hey! Another great week at Dynasty. Tickets are moving fast for these shows with great headliners, get urs NOW!
That might be the Dynasty you want, but that’s not the Dynasty you get, honey. And that kind of mind certainly wouldn’t have named the venue Dynasty Typewriter without explanation. That kind of mind would’ve called this HAYWORTH HAHAs.
