Today is the autumnal equinox! ✨ In other words, it is the first day of FALL 🍂. It is also FALLS Prevention Awareness Day. This is real. And it's a total coincidence that it FALLS on this day! FALLS Prevention Awareness Day, which... celebrates (?) the awareness of the leading cause of injury-related visits to the ER for older folks happens every September 22nd and thus lands on the first day of FALL 🍂 in 2026. Yeah, we weren't sure what to make of this *exciting* overlap either. But the entire Dynasty team got together for a LONG and INTENSE meeting and decided that the coincidence was COOL 😎. It's both: a cool opportunity for the FALLS Prevention Awareness team (over there at The National Council on Aging) to maximize awareness for falling and a cool way to open our weekly newsletter about all the great programming coming up at Dynasty Typewriter while also giving some of our patrons much needed awareness about falling.

Also: It's now only 100 days until the end of this year! Wild, right?? 2026, you've been a beast! Speaking of beasts, today also happens to be National Elephant Appreciation Day 🐘! Did you know that my grandma was obsessed with elephants and boasted a collection of over 300 elephant figurines from around the world. If you knew that.... uncanny! What else do you know about us?
Lastly, it's also National Brown Butter Day 🧈. According to weeks of research, we've discovered that brown butter is special because cooking it "triggers chemical changes that transform simple dairy into a rich, complex flavor booster." Ok Brown Butter! U HAWT! 💋
