And YOU, mall Santa who cannot be bothered to pretend to be Santa…. WHY ARE YOU DRESSED UP AS SANTA!?) But, as always, there is also a list of absolute angels who deserves stockings stuffed with adorable baby animals who cater to their every whim. Lookin' at you, absolute QUEEN at Delta who understood that Herbert is a perfect soul/dog. And the man in Minneapolis who let Herbert and Vanessa ride the little airport car and catch the flight! And, of course Herbert himself, who if not technically considered a Psychological Service Dog prior to this date, has certainly earned the distinction now. Vanessa having hair left on her head, and the Pretzel Person’s survival are absolute proof. At this weekend’s ALAN CARR show ADELE (yes, that Adele) was in attendance and basically confirmed her [heretofore unannounced] marriage to RICH PAUL. Now, typicallly this info would stay locked up tight with Orl Dynasty’s wedding night undies in THE DYNASTY VAULT , but someone in the audience leaked this info to internet gossip queen Deuxmoi, and the rest… is history. Though rarely named in any article, and though our capacity is incorrectly stabbed at  in almost every one (75 seats?? MAYBE WITH OUR SIDE CURTAINS DRAWN, Smooth! And BNN, you can take several seats for your shoddy journalism as well!) but at least Entertainment Daily (move over, Entertainment Weekly, you weak-ass publication!) got it right. But basically, we’ve been launched into the stratosphere, and we’re pretty sure Adele will be singing at the wedding Vanessa is manifesting for Jamie in 2025 as a gesture of thanks for being such a perfect backdrop for her news to be shared. Adele, it was nothing. Wishing you and Rich much mazel! Other than the above news, our “Scorpio Season” turned out to be alllll stinger this year. We went in seeking power and life lessons and opportunity, we come out holding some new truths (shitting in a bucket is not the free-spirited woodsperson vibe we were after, double pink-eye is not “flirty”, and large corporations seems to scrimp on the “moral compass” budget) and letting go of some old ideas (living simply can still involve plumbing, laughter is a GOOD medicine, but not the best for double pink eye, and being nice doesn’t always get RESULTS.)  We welcome the changing season as we try to bolster ourselves for the more difficult elements: awkward conversations, innnntennnnnse amounts of emails about sales, and crippling potluck stress. View Our Calendar Here →  Dearest Dynasty Darlings (Da Triple D), We continue to bask in the autumny glow of 🦂 SCORPIO SEASON 🦂  'round these parts. It's been a particularly and literally eventful one so far: so many events! We love hostin' 'em and puttin' 'em on and creating an enchanting escape from the outside world once you enter through our hallowed doors. In our experience, people generally seem to appreciate entering into a magical, vintage typewriter-y realm with relics of "simpler" times. Times when writing machines were unwieldy and you really had to have a keen knowledge of margins and tabs and if you misspelled something on a document it required white paint, or completely starting over. And then, if you wanted to make sure that a word like hallowed was being used accurately, you had to open up an unwieldy book and have keen knowledge of alphabetization and if it wasn't correct it required... white paint. ZING! Look at us, connecting dots. If you'd told us 5 minutes ago that we'd have callbacks to both the word hallowed AND the concept of white out, we'd say "You're batshit!" But now look at us! "WE'RE batshit!" And owning it! HA! Now THAT's The Dynasty Difference!™ ;)  Last week was indeed a wild one here, and without getting into the finer details of it, we'll shout out the 99% of folks who come here and are sweet and gracious and appreciative, and say BUG OFF to the 1% entitled few who come to corporate events we host and give attitude to our overly kind staff and do things like choke an innocent toilet to death with a stack of trifold paper towels though there is toilet paper readily available and then say “your toilet’s broken” with the vacant eyes of a serial killer, or fill their bags with handfuls of packs of Skittles and Nerd Ropes n' such and. Sure, there's a concession buyout and you can take what you want, but be reasonable, people! Take a candy or two and leave some for the others! A reminder that these things are readily available at ANY GAS STATION. And gas stations are everywhere in this car-obsessed world we live in! This seems like an appropriate place for a quick additional shout out to our elevated chocolatier partner, Compartes. Listen, we try to seem down to earth but yes… coastal elite. 🤷‍♀️ It’s GEOGRAPHY people, calm down.  In final things, whilst a small portal to hell continuously opened and closed at the theater last week like a little whackamole that we kept trying to permanently shut down ( but our mallet was… love ) Jamie spent those days on a retreat in a cabin in a remote forest in Albion, California, a birthday gift to himself! It was more rustic than he'd planned for, though he did know going into it that he would be showering outside in the elements and shitting in a bucket as part of a Humanure™ composting situation. The trip wasn't the creative boon he'd planned for, but he met some lovely people, explored the beauty of the Mendocino coast, discovered a lovely arts scene in Fort Bragg, learned how to build a fire in a wood stove after two freezing nights, awkwardly chopped wood for kindling, picked apples and made apple juice, saw a batshit Scandinavian puppet show, and most of all enjoyed peeing off his tiny second floor balcony into the darkness at 3am every night. The major takeaway: Sometimes you don't get the retreat you wanted, but you get the retreat you needed. (Shout out to the great folks at Salmon Creek Farm for hosting, highly recommend!) We had an absofloopinlutely wonderful Halloweekend at Dynasty this week; we’re talkin’ treats on TREATS baby. From Friday’s Drag show through last night’s screening of Beetlejuice, we saw costumes that thrilled and reminded us, heck, every day we’re playing a part, might as well dress up for it! Maybe this is FINALLY the year we get into casual wig wearing. Saturday night we had a Dynasty Tonight! (aka “BooNight) that was a thrill of surprises, including a drop-in from ATSUKO OKATSUKA, an audience member cracking a blood filled egg, and a person who dressed up in costume as…. SLUDGY THE BEAR. Dynasty’s own plumbassador. If you’ve been to Dynasty and had the treat of visiting one of our “all gender release zones” (née “bathrooms) you’ve seen massive signage featuring an affable bear with a plunger on his head. That bear is SLUDGY and he’s here to remind all the feral creatures to keep it tame in the bathroom. That Sludgy came to the theater on his own accord was an absolute dream come true which says so much about our dreams. You’ll be RELIEVED to know we now sell Sludgy shirts and stickers on site (and soon on web-site) and coming soon… we’ll be featuring Sludgy’s Shit Kits including his (bear) necessities for release zones. This is something we’re very very PROUD of which says so much about what we can derive pride from. Tim is a stand-up comeidan, host of Slumber Party Podcast on iHeart Radio and can be seen on The Other Two on HBOMax, The Vivienne Takes Hollywood, the film Swan Song starring Jennifer Coolidge, and all over TikTok with his viral (often Wicked themed) sketch comedy videos. He has appeared in 50 Shades the Musical Off-Broadway (New York Times’ Critics Pick), Voldemort and the Teenage Hogwarts Musical Parody in London, and has toured his hour of stand-up in the UK, US and appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, SF Sketchfest, DragCon UK and DragCon LA.   WEDNESDAY, November 1st, 7:30PM: IAN KARMEL Enjoy an evening with IAN KARMEL! Ian was head writer for the Emmy award winning The Late Late Show with James Corden, and was one of the founding writers in the show’s 2015 re-creation.  Previously he was a staff writer and round table regular on E!’s Chelsea Lately.  Ian’s stand-up has been featured on Conan, The Late Late Show, Comedy Central, and most recently showcased on Netflix’s The Comedy Line Up: Part 1. His debut comedy album, 9.2 on Pitchfork, was released in 2015 to rave reviews. Ian also hosts the weekly podcast All Fantasy Everything, from Headgum studios. Featured on many best of lists, it’s a lighthearted show where funny people and experts come together to fantasy draft pop culture. This might fly under the radar for some of you, but Dynasty is led by Vanessa & Jamie aka  🦂 VANJAM 🦂 aka 🦂 DOUBLE SCORPIO 🦂 aka 🦂 DOUBLE FLARPIN' SCORPIO 🦂 aka 🦂 DUBSKORP 🦂 aka 🦂 BY NATURE OF OUR BIRTHDATES (11/2/1992? & 11/17/1998?) WE HAVE LESS TOLERANCE FOR DUMB SHIT 🦂! (And of course we're highly intuitive and intensely passionate lovers.) And yeah, sure, we may still deal with occasional people pleasing, but we're more highly aware than ever of when we're doing it and that's like a *very* significant part of the battle! In any case, the next 4 weeks is when our beautiful, highly effective but sometimes dormant scorpion stingers protrude from our butts on full display. So go ahead, we dare you to challenge us with a pointedly unkind email, a less than savory review, or an unnecessary heckle. In October that year, they went on to make their late-night stand -up debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Sabrina regularly performs at venues like Union Hall and the Bell House in New York City, where they’ve been featured as part of the New York Comedy Festival.
