(“Neigh!” a gorgeous black stallion screeches in the distance, trying to back us up by joining in the “nigh” vibes but his vocal chords don’t really support the long “I” sound so it seems like he’s dissenting. But he’s not. He’s UNDERSCORING. It’s a little raspy and not like perfect, but it’s adorable in its imperfection. This beautiful stallion just wants to be part of something. And now… he is. This spring, The Muppet Script returned to Dynasty Typewriter with The Scripted Muppet Caper!
When most people think of the Muppets, they think of the colorful characters made out of fleece and foam. But as with every movie, it all starts on the written page. Before returning to the big screen, the Muppets returned to the writers’ room. Muppets head writer Jerry Juhl was joined this time by Tom Pratchett, Jack Rose, and Jay Tarses to take the gang overseas to jolly old England, in Jim Henson’s directorial debut. With music by Joe Raposo, The Great Muppet Caper is a true delight — a fizzy, self-aware romp that captures everything we love about Henson’s world.
This spring, The Muppet Script returned to Dynasty Typewriter with The Scripted Muppet Caper! Some returning favorites, some new faces, and, of course, the same old jokes — all performed live for a packed house and a worldwide livestream audience.
The evening featured an incredible cast including Marc Evan Jackson as Kermit the Frog, Nina West as Miss Piggy, Paul Scheer as Fozzie Bear, Bobby Moynihan as Gonzo, Mark Gagliardi as Statler, Hal Lublin as Waldorf, Janet Varney as Janice, Dana Wickens as Animal, Scott Passarella as Dr. Teeth, Brett Morris as Floyd Pepper, Taylor Plenn as Zoot, Ross Bryant as Scooter, Jiavani as Rowlf, Jordan Myrick as Sam Eagle, Katie Marovitch as Beaker, Nina Concepción as Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Ruha Taslimi as Lew Zealand, Oscar Montoya as Beauregard, Anna Garcia as Sweetums and The Swedish Chef, and Lucas Ross as Louis Kazzager. Special appearances included James Willems, Elyse Willems, Veronica Fernandez, London Villamayor, and Mallery Jenna Robinson, rounding out a cast that perfectly captured the Muppets’ chaotic charm.
Music was performed by Brett Morris, Micah O’Konis, Scott Passarella, Taylor Plenn, Lucas Ross, Marnina Schon, and Dana Wickens, with narration by Anna Rajo and Abigail Remaley, musical direction by Scott Passarella, and production and direction by Matt Wilkie.
The performance also served as a fundraiser for The TransLatin@ Coalition, a Los Angeles-based organization founded in 2009 by Transgender, Gender Expansive, and Intersex (TGI) immigrant women. The Coalition continues to serve and empower TGI Latin@ immigrants through advocacy, community building, and direct support — a mission that beautifully reflects the inclusive, joyful spirit of the Muppets themselves.

🕰️ CLOCKTOBER 🕰️ (our fun Dynasty style send-up on the spelling and spirit of the month of October) is nearing its' half way point. In clock terms, this would be like the noon of the month. So basically, it's lunch time 🍿. But for the month. And in a few days it will be afternoon snack time 🍿. But for the month. And a few days after that, it will be supper time 🍿. But for the month. (Yes, we are a supper people.) And then, on the 31st, it will be like the midnight snack time🍿. But for the month. And just like that, we now know what an absolute thrill it must have been to be Bill Haley (or one of His Comets ☄️), in a constant state of "Rock[ing] Around The Clock!" 😊
When we opened the theater almost 8 years ago we had a ceremony to manifest the organic dropping of a Bill Haley (and His Comets ☄️) song reference into one of our newsletters. It took longer than we’d hoped but by gosh it just happened! It's always such a blessing when The Universe ✨ pulses it's light through your hands and into your keyboard and into Mailchimp and into the inboxes of thousands of people who now get to "Shake, Rattle, and Roll" with The Infinite ✨. Omg it happened again!! Safe to say that this is going to be a pretty sweet-ass week. But for the month. 😊
We'll use the rest of this god blessed missive to make an **OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!**: DEAD FROM DYNASTY! Our first Halloween event at Dynasty since 2022 will be happening on Halloween night! On the evening of October 31st, we'll be hosting a magical variety show with some of your favorite performers, with music and variety, and so much more! There will be a seance, a fish coffin ceremony of release, and a classic Dynasty costume contest/talent showcase. It will all take place in the mythical Guano Guano Club, a tropical and spooky batshit cabaret for animals and creatures and ghosts of Dynasty past. It's going to be a show and a party and we think, honestly, the best way to spend your Halloween. **Tickets will go fast, so get yours ASAP!** We can't wait for this enchanting, weird, and joyous ceremony and celebration and hope to see you there, all dressed up! And who knows, maybe the ghost of the great Bill Haley (and/or one of His Comets☄️) will make an appearance. 😊

Tonight we’ve got a FULL-ass HARVEST MOON in Aries 🔥 And our favorite online witches and warlocks are telling us to make a list of stuff we’re done with and BURN it (in a fire-safe container.) So that’s what we’re going to do. It’s sort of like Santa but way more badass. Instead of making a list and checking it twice (🤓 NERD ALERT! 🎅 ) we’re making a list and SETTING IT ON FIRE. Join us! Well hello there Dynasty Darlings!
The end of Sweptember is fast approaching and we hope that you were positively swept off your feet these past few weeks. Traditionally the turn of phrase "swept off your feet" has a romantic context to it, and we are overjoyed for anyone in our community experiencing a version of that. But we are also overjoyed for anyone in our community who was literally swept off their feet this past week. Like a situation where you were in a room where someone was sweeping with a broom with such vigorand determination in their mission to rid of the floor of dust and debris that when they saw you in their sweeping path they were undeterred and just kept sweeping and when the bristles of the broom hit your high heels 👠 they gently lifted you off the ground. For a second that felt like a thousand, you were floating. It was unexpected and breathtaking. You returned to your feet, exhilarated. No one was hurt. Just two lonely souls in this Victorian parlor (did we mention you were in a Victorian parlor? Because this is all taking place in a Victorian parlor), one with a broom and a passion for a spotless floor (made of decorative mosaic tiling), and one who just went airborne with no warning, both looking into each others eyes, seeing all the possibilities in the universe being unveiled right before them. We'll let you fill in the lusty details from there. It’s your story after all. We’re just thankful to bear witness. Thank you for proving that being literally "swept off your feet” can also have a romantic context to it. :) ;) Keep sweepin’, honays!

Award-winning comedic duo Arasha Lalani and Lily Abha Cratsley took the Dynasty stage with How I Met Your Masi—a smart, playful, and deeply personal show that reimagines the variety format.
Through a series of flashbacks, Arasha and Lily shared the story of how their friendship transformed “from icy to spicy,” blending sketch, autobiography, and a wink toward the sitcom that inspired their title. With a mix of sharp writing, on-stage chemistry, and a parade of surprising guest stars, the pair built a world that challenged familiar narratives and put South Asian sisterhood at its center.
Calling their signature style “high-brown comedy,” Arasha and Lily delivered exactly that: a night that balanced sharp satire with heartfelt storytelling. The result was both hilarious and subversive, daring the audience to rethink how Indian-American women are represented on stage and screen.
And if the laughter, gasps, and cheers were any indication—the audience was fully along for the ride.
